MARIONETTE LINE REDUCTION

Marionette lines, also known as puppet lines or oral commissure lines, are facial wrinkles or folds that extend downward from the corners of the mouth to the chin. These lines often give the appearance of downturned corners of the mouth. The formation of marionette lines is a natural part of the aging process and is primarily attributed to factors such as: Loss of skin elasticity, volume loss, repetitive facial expressions and genetics. Dermal fillers, such as hyaluronic acid-based fillers, are commonly used to add volume to the areas around the mouth, reducing the depth of marionette lines and providing a more youthful and lifted appearance.

How does dermal filler work for Marionette lines?

Injection of Filler Substance: Dermal fillers, often composed of hyaluronic acid, are injected into the areas surrounding the marionette lines using a fine needle or cannula.

Volume Enhancement: The filler adds volume to the targeted areas, effectively filling in the depressions and wrinkles associated with marionette lines.

Hydration and Plumping: Hyaluronic acid in the filler attracts water molecules, leading to improved hydration and a plumping effect in the skin, which helps to smooth out the lines.

Stimulation of Collagen Production: Some fillers may stimulate the production of collagen, a protein that provides structural support to the skin. This can contribute to longer-term improvements in skin texture and elasticity.

Immediate Results: Patients often see immediate results, with the marionette lines appearing less pronounced and the overall facial appearance looking more youthful and refreshed.

Natural-Looking Outcome: Hyaluronic acid fillers have a natural feel and integrate seamlessly with the surrounding tissues, creating a natural-looking result without an overfilled or unnatural appearance.

Longevity: The duration of their effects typically lasts upto 6-12 months, depending on the types of filler used and ones lifestyles.

Minimal Pain: Our hyaluronic acid fillers contain lidocaine, a local anesthetic, which contributes to the overall comfort of the treatment. Most individuals report only mild, temporary discomfort, such as a pinching or stinging sensation, during the procedure.

Touch-Up Treatments: Touch-up treatments may be required to maintain or enhance the results as the filler gradually dissipates. These touch-up sessions can help sustain the desired aesthetic outcome over time.
